Arizona Columbine is a favorite around here with its profusion of small, bright orange and yellow flowers. Blooms all summer when dead-headed regularly. It is native to the middle elevations of Coconino Country in Arizona and is very amenable to non-mountain climates.

Even the dry, hot summer weather didn’t shorten the 3-month blooming season. Like Golden Spur Columbine, Arizona Columbine comes down from the mountains into the middle elevations of Coconino Co. in north central Arizona and is more amenable to non-mountain climates. Shade is a must in hot desert climates.
